Rutherford Pool is a city-owned pool located in Recreation Park in Ypsilanti, Michigan. In 2004, the Friends of the Rutherford Pool (FoRP), a newly formed 501(c) (3) nonprofit group, began operating the pool on behalf of the City

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all employees and all activities that occur at the pool.
  • Schedule staff as necessary to support programs and a safe environment.
  • Recommend personnel requirements to the FoRP Board,
  • Develop and implement a program to identify necessary personnel as directed by the FoRP Board. Recommend qualified personnel necessary for the program for hiring to the City of Ypsilanti.
  • Maintain a program of professional development to assure the highest operating standards for all facets of the pool program. Administer preseason training for all program staff.
  • Maintain a record of all program staff certifications.
  • Maintain payroll and time records as required to assure the timely payment of all staff.
  • Work with the Business manager to assure that all receipts are accurately recorded and deposited in a timely manner.
  • Meet with FoRP Board monthly in the off season.
  • Other duties as may be directed by the FoRP Board.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • American Red Cross Life Guard Facility Manager certification,
  • American Red Cross FIT certification
  • LG & CPR for the Professional Rescuer,
  • Experience with pool facilities desired

Time commitment: In-season: 30 hours/week 14 weeks; pre-season: 24 hours; post season: 16 hours and off-season: 3 hours/month.
